Delivering a clear message to their consumers has become a high priority for SMP Acquisitions as the sales, marketing and PR industry evolves.

The impressive PRWeek Awards event is on Tuesday 23 October 2012 at Grosvenor House on London’s Park Lane and are widely accepted by the PR and Marketing communications sector to be the equivalent of the film industry’s ‘Oscars’. SMP Acquisitions like many businesses in marketing are conscious of the focus the upcoming awards place on branding and PR efforts. SMP Acquisitions have upgraded their branding strategy in recent months and are starting to see a return on investment.

SMP Acquisitions Managing Director Scott Pattrick reveals “Our clients have noticed an increased emotional connection from customers since we implemented some changes to our business branding. Our goal has been to deliver a clear message to our target audience to ensure they recognise us as the best solution to their outsourced sales and marketing needs in turn this has led to better relationships with our clients customer base”.

The PRWeek Awards highlight the best performing marketing agencies, most engaging campaign developments and up-and-coming people in the industry “I haven’t had the opportunity to attend the awards before but have always kept an eye on the nominee’s and the criteria on which they are judged. I think a lot can be learned from observing the best in the industry and think the awards push business such as SMP Acquisitions to constantly evolve our marketing and branding practices” adds Scott Pattrick of SMP Acquisitions.

Increasing branding efforts encourages competitors in the same field to up their game. SMP Acquisitions are outsourced by businesses to develop sales or marketing strategies that will increase brand awareness and generate more customer acquisition. The demand for more engaging branding and marketing has most definitely increased in the past 5 years and differentiating one business from another is becoming more difficult “We are constantly trying to stay one step ahead of others in the industry to ensure we provide the best quality results for our growing client base, being able to identify a brands niche in order to build a brand is an area of high priority for us right now” comments Scott Pattrick, MD at SMP Acquisitions.

SMP Acquisitions plan to futher increase branding efforts and will look forward to one of the industry’s biggest event, the 2012 PRWeek Awards.

SMP Acquisitions are an outsourced sales company based in Luton. Managing director Scott Pattrick has researched the difference in opinion on whether or not the 2012 games will be a help or hindrance to the currently struggling UK economy.

London’s Olympic bid was accepted in 2005 and ever since economists across the globe have been debating how this momentous event will affect the UK’s economy. SMP Acquisitions report following on from the 2008 global recession, experts have been speculating on the impact of the games.

Scott Pattrick, managing director of SMP Acquisitions states: “I’m really excited for the games to arrive in the UK; sadly I was unsuccessful in my ticket application but will be making my way to London in July to be part of the occasion. The last few years have proven tough for a lot of individuals and businesses in the UK and the Olympics should help to provide a well deserved break for those in need.”

According to the Independent almost 40,000 jobs have been created as a direct result of the Games. Stratford City itself has seen a major revamp, with the construction of the new Westfield, the largest shopping centre in Europe, constantly drawing trade from tourists and locals alike. This new supermall has proved so popular in fact, that it saw 160,000 customers on the first day alone.

SMP Acquisitions MD Scott Pattrick explains that: “I think many people are hoping that in the midst of the Eurozone crisis that the Olympics will be enough to bring the UK out of its current slump for good, I believe the summer months should see a boost in the economy but it is the strategies in place to utilise places like the Olympic village that will determine the longevity of the change.”

According to Visa Europe and their projections, the London 2012 Olympic Games will give the UK long term economical uplift; the event itself is expected to deliver a sustained stimulus worth a total of £5.1 billion to the UK economyby 2015. Over the three week period The Games international visitors are expected to spend a total of £619 million. SMP Acquisitions agree the retail, leisure and travel sectors are likely to receive the biggest spending injection.

The independents view is that this boom is not a sustainable phenomenon. “When the crowds leave, so too will the profits, and unfortunately, the two months of economic growth that we’ll witness is unlikely to be significant enough to lift us out of recession in the long term.”

SMP Acquisitions MD, Scott Pattrick says: “I’m all about positive thinking and looking for the best in every situation, if the 2012 Olympic Games bring a small improvement, that is better than no improvement at all and both I and SMP Acquisitions are excited for the opening ceremony on the 27th July.”

With the on-going debate on whether entrepreneurship can in fact be taught SMP Acquisitions shares its opinion on the subject.

Entrepreneurship has many definitions but is most commonly defined as the act of being an entrepreneur, someone who undertakes new ideas, finance and business acumen in an effort to transform innovations into economic goods. Some believe that entrepreneurship can be taught through formal coursework while others believe it cannot be taught as such but comes from ones personality traits, instinctive skills and the guidance of a successful mentor. SMP Acquisitions managing director Scott Pattrick agrees with the latter.

Although it is possible to learn how to start a business and gain textbook skills to become an entrepreneur through a university setting, it is not always enough. A successful entrepreneur requires ambition, intuition and the ability to think outside the box, traits that simply cannot be taught. “A lot of people have great ideas, but success is in actualising those ideas” says SMP Acquisitions’ MD. “Possessing the skills or knowledge to make a successful businessman is one thing but a true entrepreneur is unique in their own right. Entrepreneurs see things that many others fail to see, they aim to bring about change and development, they see potential and believe in themselves and what they do, all of which are attributes that come from self-confidence and a positive outlook. However, in saying that, a mentor can most definitely help lead you on the path to success in both business and personal development through their experiences and informal training” Scott Pattrick continues.
SMP Acquisitions believes that establishing a trusting and mutually beneficial mentor relationship can fast track an entrepreneur’s journey to success. “A mentor will not only share their expertise and help guide you in the right direction but they can also help you avoid making common mistakes. Mistakes are of course an effective way to learn, but some are costly and time-consuming so if you can bypass this part of the journey, why not. There is a lot to be learned by having a mentor and in some cases it can be the encouragement young entrepreneurs need to get to where they want to be” says SMP Acquisitions’ MD. “You have nothing to lose and everything to gain by finding a good mentor and I think it is important that every entrepreneur finds one to follow” Scott Pattrick adds.

SMP Acquisitions agree that entrepreneurship is difficult to be taught in the traditional sense but that there are ways in which aspiring entrepreneurs can learn more effectively, thus promoting the importance of mentors.

Outsourced Sales and Marketing leader SMP Acquisitions have increased their customer service efforts to aim at obtaining long-term customers.

SMP Acquisitions reported surpassing sales targets by 28% in the first quarter of 2012. The outsourced sales brand adopted a customer service policy in January and have proven a successful link between greater customer service and quantity of sales closed. Customer service is often described as an activity that identifies and satisfies’s customer needs. SMP Acquisitions values the importance of customer service as it not only increases impulse purchases but regularly eventuates in return business.

SMP Acquisitions are outsourced by businesses that look to increase their customer acquisitions. ‘To obtain new customers for brands that have an already established customer base can sometimes be challenging. It is our direct marketing approach which incorporates great customer service that gives us the edge we need to gain attention from a new audience. By understanding the needs and tailoring our marketing approach to identify with that audience we are able to generate a lot of interest. Solidifying the relationship with superior customer service has proven to be successful in gaining repeat and loyal customers for our clients’ says Scott Pattrick, Managing Director at SMP Acquisitions.

Customer service campaigns are often developed to give a brand a competitive advantage. A Case study in The Times 100 featured First Direct’s recent customer service campaign. First Direct, an internet based bank, launched a customer service campaign to position their business in the retail banking sector. Using market research to re-launch and revitalise its brand. The firm now use the tag line ‘How many other banks come with a Satisfaction Guarantee?’. SMP Acquisitions have reviewed the case study and believe it suggests customer service plays a very important role in converting leads into new customers.

The outsourced sales and marketing industry has increasingly become competitive as demand for customer acquisitions as increased. SMP Acquisitions have managed to classify the reputation as a leader in the Bedfordshire area due to the unique direct marketing approach. ‘We have worked really hard to establish a great reputation in a saturated market. Increasing the level of customer service offered and building relationships with new customers has assisted with the success of our business’ adds SMP Acquisitions, MD Scott Pattrick.

SMP Acquisitions have their sights set on international expansion. With plans to expand into Australia by 2013 the firm will rely heavily on the reputation they have built in the UK.

The kidnapped father of Chelsea footballer John Obi Mikel has been released alive by his captors in the Nigerian city of Kano. Michael Obi went missing from Jos — the main city in Plateau State in central Nigeria — on August 12TH and had not been seen or heard of since.

Mikel was informed of the kidnap just hours before Chelsea’s opening game of the English Premier League season at Stoke but decided to play. He also played the full 90 minutes in Saturday’s 2-1 victory over West Bromwich. A statement released by Mikel’s management company, Sport Entertainment & Media Group, confirmed the news. “SEM are delighted to confirm, that earlier today Michael Obi called his family to advise them that he had been released by his abductors.

SEM quoted Michael explaining his abduction: “I was taken right deep into the bush, in an isolated area in Jos (in central Nigeria). I started begging them, yet they beat me mercilessly, kicking me with their boots. There were five of them and they were dressed in military uniforms. They pushed me into a vehicle painted in military colours and began to drive very fast. I never knew a vehicle can fly like that.”

Chelsea FC released their own statement on Monday, that read: “All at Chelsea Football Club are delighted that John Mikel Obi’s father, Michael, has been found safe in Nigeria. Mikel has shown outstanding commitment and professionalism during this most difficult of times, and the club will continue to offer its full support to him and his family.”

Scott Pattrick, CEO at SMP Acquisitions, based at Telford House in Luton, comments, “Sometimes we are faced with these unbelievable situations in a performance-related game, but when you have people is counting on you, it’s all you can do, but to maintain your professionalism and display exemplary conduct. The most competitive people in sports are normally the winners, you don’t see top sports people getting excited when they lose. That’s the passion, the winning mentality that the best possess. Here at SMP Acquisitions we embody this spirit, just as John Mikel Obi refused to be deterred from his goals, so do we strive each day to be true professionals.”

Statistics revealed between 1 and 2 billion people watched the Royal Wedding. Prime Minister Gordon Brown was reported to have called this the “Wedding of the Century”. Scott Pattrick of SMP Acquisitions agreed with the Prime Minister’s statement, Prince William marrying his girlfriend of 9years, Princess-Bride Catherine Middleton, also known as Kate, stirred up excitement both in the United Kingdom and all over the world. Marketing research revealed that 1billion Royal followers and reformers round the world turned on their TVs at 4:00 am, which was expected to infuse over $1 Billion US dollars into the UK’s economy.

HOW and WHY should an event such as a wedding produce such massive results? Simply because a Prince marrying a commoner generates lots of attention. The extraordinary fact being Kate Middleton was living out what every other young woman in the world could only dream of but on the contrary almost 1 billion people got the opportunity to be included in celebrating the happy couples Big Day. Millions of memorabilia items were designed in preparation for the Wedding, things from decorative hats, designer frocks, silver coins and duplicate sapphire engagement rings everything down to china tea sets, all this wedding related merchandise yielded up to $42 million in the UK and $351 million was grossed in travel and tourism. It is clear to say the Royal Wedding was the biggest event of the Century yet.

So overall the royal wedding was a success millions of people gathered to watch the happy couple’s nuptials. Millions of people took it at as a day off and others took as an opportunity to expand on their horizons. For businesses as a whole the wedding put them on the map and they took it in their stride. So not only was it a day joy for Will and Kate but also an opportunity for the people of Britain and those worldwide to pay the respects.

The Royal Wedding targeted people of all ages and from different walks of life. Everyone felt as much a part of the Wedding as the Royals themselves. Scott Matthew of SMP Acquisitions said “I wish the happy couple all the best and may they experience many more happy moments to come”. They are now known as William Duke of Cambridge and Catherine Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge.

What a breath of fresh air it was to witness the dazzling Duchess and a smitten Prince joined in matrimony. For SMP Acquisitions it is only the beginning of success. Their motto being, to use, a simple and cost effective approach to marketing and working with named brand clientele, promoting their products and campaigns to ensure it reaches as many people throughout the United Kingdom. As a whole SMP Acquisitions are clearly on the road to success.

The Unemployment levels in Britain has increased by 0.1 per cent to eight per cent, after a further 27,000 people became unemployed in the last quarter to January 2011. The latest Office of National Statistics (ONS) figures reveal that unemployment in the UK has hit a record high of 2.53 million.

The amount of Jobseeker’s Allowance claims has increased by 5,400 for women between the ages of 25 and 49. However, numbers have actually decreased in the amount of male claimants. Dr John Philpott, the chief economic advisor at the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIDP) commented that the rise in unemployment suggests that the labour market weakened at the turn of the year well before the impact of cuts and tax rises start to take full effect.

Statistics show that the jobless benefit claims dropped 10,200 from January to 1.45 million, the lowest since February 2009. Millions of young people between the ages of 16 to 24 are struggling to find jobs throughout the United Kingdom. This is a real cause for concern offering room for both optimism and pessimism.

SMP ACQUISITIONS are a marketing company that focus on giving both the young and the average mature adult the opportunity to progress further and build a career. Young people are realising that work experience can be an incredible plus. There are more people in work in the private sector and fewer on welfare benefits which offer hope that the labour market might withstand the economic changes better than previously expected.

SMP ACQUISITIONS can provide advice and guidance as well as skills development in Marketing for school leavers, undergraduates as well as those without degrees, allowing them the opportunity of a stable futire. Under the expertise managerial skills of Scott Pattrick, SMP ACQUISITIONS are seeing a rapid growth in the business as more and more young business opportunities are being developed.

Millions of jobs are being lost daily, young people are unable to put their graduate skills to use and most are finding employment in non-skilled industrial jobs. Thousands of University graduates find they are unable to reimburse their student loans along with the challenge of keeping up with the daily upkeep of their lifestyles. Thousands upon thousands of people in the United Kingdom are facing the hard reality of the recession. SMP ACQUISITIONS, which is a recession proof company, is set to see yet more young adults employed in the near future.

From surveys and experience, we’ve noticed many setting excellent goals for their business. We’ve also noticed that while the goals being set are good, the results aren’t. Around 90% of those in Direct Sales do SET goals, but never reach them, said Scott Pattrick from SMP Acquisitions

So the question comes to mind… are you making the right plans to reach your goals? It’s GREAT to set a certain amount you want to make, so you have a little motivation, but without the proper planning reaching that goal is going to be more difficult.
Ask yourself the following questions:
What have you done in the past that created sales?
How can you improve on ideas for creating sales?
What ideas for sales have you seen but not tried?

SMP Acquisitions suggests that you take a minute to write down every way you can think of to make your sales (such as through parties, catalog shows, drawings, etc), then make some more specific goals for doing each task. Such as “contact 10 people and book at least 3 shows”.

Once you have a plan in motion, be sure to stick with it! A dream won’t become reality if you are just simply wishing for it. If you have an idea of how to get to your goal, well that’s half the battle. The next part of course is taking action. You should have your goals AND plans clearly written in a place you can see. It’s true everyone has their own way of setting and reaching goals, which is fine, but everyone needs to have them BOTH written down in some way. If you don’t have a goal or even a plan, now is a perfect time to start! ,

A university study at Harvard university showed that people that wrote down their goals and talked about what they wanted to achieve everyday , were more likely to succeed and achieve their goals , it seems if you live and breathe your goals it is impossible not to reach them , said Scott Pattrick of SMP Acquisitions , and if you say your going to do something by having it written down will hold you more accountable and you will achieve the dream.
